Today I was down at St Marys Hospital Lindo Ward , along with nearly 1,000 other members of the worlds press, covering the exciting new birth of British Monarch. It was a great day for patience and friendly banter.
The Police did a brilliant and fair job. The BBC and other news outlets were respectful. We all waited very patiently for a very long time and were happy to learn that the Prince was born at 4:24pm .
He is 8lb 6oz and everyone involved is happy and healthy. His name? Best bets so far is for a George first name.
It also happened to coincide with the hottest day of the year, and the hottest day for over 7 years. The temperature was 33c / 90f and it definitely felt more like 40c within the media herd. That said there was a strong sense of comradery and patient expectation.
Time For The Photography and I wish Kate and William and their new baby boy all the best in the day, weeks, months, and years to come.
Its an exciting time for Britain!
Here are some behind the scenes photos from today.
