Day 2 (ish) of the young Princes life and he makes his first public appearance. With substantially more dignity than I imagine I would have presented the world aged 24 hours. Day 3 – We get a name! HRH George Alexander Louis Windsor the Prince of Cambridge.
When he grows up and ends up going there for University, thats going to sound even cooler than it does already.
Prince George of Cambridge came into this world loudly. Yes, 42 guns heralded in the birth of the third in the line to the throne to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth nations. It was loud and pretty awesome.
The guns are actual World War 1 originals operated by the King’s Troop, Royal Horse Artillery. Named such when King George VI (the young Prince’s great-great-grand-father) decided in 1947 that, following the mechanisation of the last batteries of horse-drawn artillery, a troop of horse artillery should be kept to take part in the great ceremonies of state.
On this occasion 71 horses pulling 6 First World War-era 13-pounder cannons fired a 41 gun salute which enthralled the crowds no end.
Also, the band played ‘popular tunes’ such as the Indiana Jones Theme, Star Wars Imperial March, and a few other greats to get the crowd in the mood.
